“From Cookies to Champagne” is an initiative of PWRDF to mark the 50th Anniversary and encourages ecclesiastical provinces to engage in 50 activities to celebrate, raise awareness about or raise money for PWRDF. In the Diocese of Western Newfoundland, it might well be called “From Pennies to Pies”.

Christmas cookies over the holidays, a glass of champagne to toast the New Year…’tis the season to celebrate. But remember that “From Cookies to Champagne: 50 CAFE Events" is in season all year round! We are hoping the each Ecclesiastical Province will hold 50 events to celebrate PWRDF’s 50th anniversary. Banquet aims to raise $50,000 for church’s relief and development work

This autumn marks the 50th anniversary of the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), and there’s going to be a party to celebrate it on Saturday, October 3 at St. Philip’s Church, 3737 W. 27th Ave., Vancouver. We will begin with a no host bar at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner to begin at 7:00 p.m.

PWRDF is launching a fun and exciting new initiative for parishes and dioceses to celebrate its 50th anniversary. "From Cookies to Champagne: 50 CAFE Events" will encourage and engage parishes in their ministry of outreach and social justice.
