All Saints Ladner, in the Diocese of New Westminster held a special PWRDF 50th Anniversary service on Sunday 14th March. Before the actual service the DVD with the messages from the Primate, Archbishop Tutu and Partners was shown to the gathered congregation. The celebrant and preacher at the service was former Primate, Archbishop Andrew Hutchison and he reminded the congregation of the work that PWRDF has done throughout the world over the past 50 years.

"If you give something small to a rural woman, she shares it with her family, her friends and her community. It has a big, multi-dimensional impact."

Farida Akhter is the Executive Director of UBINIG (Policy Research for Development Alternative) in Bangladesh, an organization that works with rural and urban women. She also runs Nari Grantha Prabartana, the first and only feminist bookstore in Bangladesh. This bookstore has become an important meeting place for women.
