St George's in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Celebrates PWRDF's 50th Anniversary

St George's New Glasgow NS

Six years ago, the small town parish of St George's in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, was facing closure. It has found new life in community activities and outreach. On April 27, Beth Baskin from PWRDF visited to share stories of PWRDF's work and to hear about the parish's plans to celebrate PWRDF's 50th anniversary. A local theatre group, Acts Theatre Society: Ministry of Drama rehearses there and in exchange for free rent they provide resources such as a PWRDF banner, made by Frances Campbell. This banner was made as a symbol of the parish's commitment to celebrating PWRDF's 50 through the year. They have distributed coin boxes throughout the parish and will be hosting a garden tour, drama presentation and variety concert all to support the ministry of PWRDF.
