Open Call for 50th Anniversary Liturgical Resources
On September 7, 1959 a meeting of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada created The Primate’s World Relief Fund.
We invite you to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this date by creating prayers that will be used across the country in local parishes. We are looking for prayers that reflect a variety of theologies and writing styles. A selection of prayers received will be made available online.
For inspiration we ask you to review the Mission and Vision of PWRDF and consult our websites (www.pwrdf.org and www.pwrdf50.org ) for more insight.
Mission
PWRDF is a response by Canadian Anglicans to the gospel call to bear witness to God's healing love in a broken world. Inspired by the vision of a spirit-filled community of hope, PWRDF walks together with partners in Canada and overseas to share in the creation of a more just and peaceful world. In joy and struggle, the Primate's Fund engages in development work, responds to emergencies, works to protect refugees, and educates and advocates for change.
Vision
Communities fully restored to right relations based on God's call for peace, justice, and the dignity of every human being.
We would like to provide the following elements of worship: Sentence, Collect, Prayer over the Gifts, Prayer after Communion
You may choose to write a full set or simply one prayer.
In addition to this we would like Prayers of the People (litanies page 110 to 128 of The Book of Alternative Services or The Prayers and Thanksgivings upon several occasions section of The Book of Common Prayer)
The readings for the months of September and October can be found here.
