Anniversary Cafe
Since 1959, Anglicans in Canada have raised close to $90 million for emergency response, sustainable development, refugee support, advocacy, human rights monitoring and more. Working with partners around the world, the Anglican Church of Canada is celebrating 50 years of helping change lives, change communities and change the world.
We created the PWRDF 50th Anniversary Cafe to celebrate 50 years and to encourage people to contribute to the experience. The CAFE stands for "Celebration", "Awareness", "Fundraising" and "Education".
Celebration
What's an anniversary without a celebration? There will be several key times of celebration and commemoration. We hope that parishes and dioceses across Canada will want to celebrate too. See the event planning guide for help with ideas and resources. Be sure to tell PWRDF about your upcoming event, and share the stories and photos of the day.
Awareness
Our goal is to make sure that 100% of Anglicans are aware that PWRDF is a good news story for the Anglican Church of Canada, and is making a difference in the world. Learn more about PWRDF.
Fundraising
As part of our anniversary celebrations we plan to raise funds to enable PWRDF to do even more in the next 50 years.
Education
Our anniversary is an opportunity to deepen understanding of the issues that PWRDF works to address: the situation of refugees in the world, HIV/AIDS and other diseases, poverty, human rights, sustainable development, and social justice.
